Head and Neck Anatomy on CD-ROM, Unit One: Osteology of the Skull

This interactive CD-ROM* contains numerous photographs, depicting the bony structures of the skull and structures of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Anatomical landmarks will come alive as you view them three-dimensionally. When you click on a bolded term in the text, an audible pronunciation of the term is given and the landmark is shaded and labeled on the skull. The text lists the location, description and function of each landmark presented. Included in this self-instructional program are identification exercises and multiple choice questions which will enable you to self-evaluate your understanding of the material.

After completing this computer animated course you will be able to:

  • locate and identify the bones of the head and neck and their landmarks.
  • locate and identify the hard and soft tissues of the nose and nasal cavity.
  • state the function of the nasal cavity.
  • locate and identify each paranasal sinus.
  • state the function of the paranasal sinus.
  • identify pertinent bony landmarks for local anesthetic injections.

*CD-ROM is available for rental only to complete course requirements. Tuition does not include the purchase of the CD-ROM. The CD-R
