Are you looking for answers to your questions on TM disorders and orofacial pain? Would you like clinical advice based on the latest evidence?

At the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry we are fortunate to have a TMD program that includes faculty who are nationally and internationally recognized for their research and clinical skills in the area of TMD and orofacial pain. This multidisciplinary team of experts will provide you an overview of the major topics concerning the diagnosis and clinical management of patients with TM disorders and orofacial pain. General practitioners and dental team members who are looking for a broad overview on contemporary issues related to pain management in dentistry will benefit from this timely and practical continuing dental education course.

Through illustrated lectures and case presentations you will receive clinical tips that will help you:

  • identify risk factors for TMD.
  • screen patients for TMD and orofacial pain.
  • diagnose and manage the anxious/depressed patient.
  • understand the relationship between TMD, occlusion and neck pain.
  • diagnose and manage common painful conditions that can affect the oral mucosa.
  • diagnose and manage neuropathic pain and headaches.
