Are you keeping abreast of the advances in endodontic treatment? Are you considering whether to incorporate some of latest endodontic technologies into your practice?

Presently, endodontics is one of the most dynamic aspects in all of dentistry. New technologies, techniques, and materials are emerging more rapidly than ever before. You are invited to spend a day at the University of Minnesota with Dr. Joe Maggio, a highly regarded endodontist who has been practicing and lecturing nationally and internationally for over 30 years. Through illustrated lectures and question and answer sessions, you will be introduced to the newest, most effective and safe cleaning, shaping and obturation technology available. This continuing dental eduation course is designed for dentists who wish to gain a better understanding of the new endodontic technologies and techniques and for dental team members who want to develop a better understanding of the advances in endodontic treatment.

You will benefit by learning:

  • what impact your patient's medical history may have on your treatment decisions.
  • how to obtain the correct endodontic diagnosis.
  • how to gain profound local anesthesia.
  • why you need to rethink access preparation.
  • how to obtain ideal canal preparation by utilizing the latest rotary file system in a crown down fashion.
  • what are the advantages of utilizing a resin based obturating material.
  • how the new obturation techniques measure up.

Joseph D. Maggio, D.D.S., private practice limited to endodontics in Lisle, Illinois. Dr. Maggio received his dental degree from Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois and completed his residency in endodontics at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a former faculty member at Temple University, Loyola University, and Northwestern University. Currently he is a guest lecturer at Loma Linda University in California. Dr. Maggio is a past president of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE). He has received numerous awards and honors including the prestigious Edgar D. Coolidge Award from the AAE and the Warren Wakii Award from the Japanese Endodontic Society. Dr. Maggio is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists and is a fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD) and the International College of Dentists (FICD). In addition, he serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on Endodontics for Sybron Dental.
