Traumatic Dental Injuries: Maximizing Outcomes, Minimizing Complications - Duluth, Minnesota

Core Competency Credit Course

Saturday-Sunday, July 19-20, 2008

Are you looking for a fun and convenient summer weekend get-away? Are you up to date with the newest guidelines for managing traumatic dental injuries?

Make plans now to join us at our popular annual continuing dental education conference in the delightful port city of Duluth. You will enjoy the scenic location and luxury accommodations at Fitger's Inn, located directly on the shores of Lake Superior. The 2008 program will feature Dr. Tony DiAngelis, a popular speaker who happens to be one of the leading experts in the area of dental traumatology. Dr. DiAngelis will provide you with treatment methods based on the 2007 published Guidelines for the Management of Traumatic Dental Injuries. His presentation will focus on a comprehensive approach to assessing and treating traumatic dental injuries with an emphasis on minimizing complications. This continuing dental education course is designed for the entire dental team since dentists and their staff members are frequently faced with treating unexpected dental trauma.

Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy Minnesota's beautiful North Shore and learn:

  • how to rapidly assess and document traumatic injuries.
  • how to provide emergency care and stage future treatment.
  • which factors influence ultimate prognosis.
  • when and how long to splint injured teeth.
  • how to minimize complications associated with dentoalveolar trauma.
  • how to treat avulsion and luxation injuries, as well as dentoalveolar, root and tooth fractures.

Anthony J. DiAngelis, D.M.D., M.P.H., Chief of Dentistry, Hennepin County Medical Center; Professor, Department of Primary Dental Care, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. DiAngelis has been very active in organized dentistry, serving as President of the Minneapolis District Dental Society, past Chair of the Minnesota Dental Association's Scientific Session Committee as well as serving in leadership capacities in several national professional organizations. Dr. DiAngelis is a frequent guest lecturer both nationally and internationally and has contributed numerous publications to the scientific literature as well as having served or currently serving on the editorial boards of JADA, Quintessence, Dental Abstracts and Dental Traumatology. He has lectured to thousands of dentists throughout the world on the clinical management of traumatic dental injuries. Dr. DiAngelis currently serves on the governing board of the International Association of Dental Traumatology.
