Are you seeing more patients with complex restorative, esthetic and occlusal problems? Would you like greater longevity with your clinical dentistry? Learn how to provide occlusal stability through functional and anatomical harmony. You will gain an understanding of centric relation, vertical dimension, neutral zone, occlusal plane and anterior guidance. In addition, you will benefit from hands-on experience with: 1) occlusal records, 2) articulators, 3) occlusal equilibration, 4) anterior previews, and 5) custom incisal guide tables. A working knowledge of all of these elements is essential for the restoration of complex esthetic cases. You will learn how to: - complete a physical examination which includes occlusal records.
- perform an incisal edge mock-up with composite materials.
- record centric relation, as well as protrusive and lateral positions.
- evaluate occlussal records.
- perform occlusal equilibration, as needed.
Eligibility: This continuing dental education course is open to any dentist who wants more practical experience with occlusion and function. It is also a core module in the Postgraduate Certificate Program in Contemporary Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry. AGD Mastership: After completing this continuing dental education course, you will have earned AGD Mastership credit in occlusion, fixed prosthodontics and esthetics. Patients: A patient is not needed for this module since you will be working on each other as patients.
